John Mayer’s guitar and blues genius

I’ve pretty much worn John Mayer’s music out in my car.  If you ask my wife or my buddy that carpools with us, I’m sure they’d both vouch for the fact that John Mayer get some serious play time.  From the Village Sessions, As/Is, an audience recording of the show we went to at The Gorge, and a demo from his band called “Villanova Junction”.  Never mind the usual releases… those get some play too….

After all this, I really have to give this guy some props.  He’s a creative genius and a blues musician to the core.  I don’t care how many teenage screaming fans you can count, how many hot celebs he’s nailed, or the number of times he’s hit the Billboard top 10.  The guy’s dripping with talent and he continutally demonstrates this in his guitar playing, music, and lyrics.  He’s our modern day Blues guitar golden boy.

In honor of that senitment, I give you (via someone elses video on YouTube) a short clip of him playing some riffs from Slow Dancing in a Burning Room.
